The New Taipei City Government renewed this 1.5km-long riverbank behind Tamsui Old Street and named it the Golden Coast. Take a walk in this riverbank area and you shall find interesting shops here and there, on the well-refurbished streets. Sip a cup of coffee in one of the European-style cafes and watch Guanyinshan and the river outlet afar. The open views are simply soothing. Take a yacht to Fisherman's Pier, too, where eastern and western cultures meet. There, feel impressed by the 18 beautiful heritage sites.

Memory of Tamsui's graceful setting sun is shared by many. Before the night falls, the riverside scenery changes so fast that it looks almost magical. At night, let the bright Moon keep you company and be caressed by ocean winds, as you appreciate Tamsui at night. You might feel so deeply drawn to this waterfront zone that you wouldn't go home.

The green hiking path beside the old street enables visitors to get closer to Tamsui River. Take a rest in one of the outdoor cafes or the tide-watching zone. The local fishery port is characterized by eight century-old Banyan trees, where visitors take a rest or do fishing. Again, Tamsui's setting sun is visitors' favorite. People like to wait for the sun to set at the pier, and watch boats coming home. The scene of glittering water surrounded by mountains is mesmerizing. Other than the pier, the nearby riverbank park is great for watching the setting sun. The adjacent mangrove ecological conservation zone is equipped with bicycle paths for families with children.
