Hot Spring Area Intro

Culture

Jinshan and Wanli townships are located on Taiwan's scenic North Coast in Taipei County. The hot springs here were created by geologic fissuring resulting from a major earthquake on November 23, 1867. There are four types of springs in the area: seawater-fed, sulfur, carbonic acid and iron oxide. The springs were first developed in the Japanese occupation period, but the industry had fallen into decline until a renewal effort was launched about five years ago. Today the Jinshan-Wanli area attracts bathers from all around with its high-quality springs and scenic mountain and sea setting.
